Returning Team Members: Camp Recommendations
Returning to IQ:
Advanced IQ: Competition Season Jumpstart. Link . This is the tailored camp specifically for the 24-25 game. This year, we will be advancing the skill level in this class, teaching the advanced mechanisms that are appropriate for the new Game (Unveiled in May) and utilizing resources from Caution Tape Robotics, and other advanced IQ programs.
Progressing from IQ to VRC
Competition Team Fundamentals: Link Learn the V5 metal robot basics (V5 system, primary parts, motors, electronics, sensors, etc) and how to build high quality drivetrains that will hold up during competitions.
Returning to VRC:
VEX V5 VRC: Advanced Competition Strategies & Mechanisms (Grades 7-10, VEX Robots). Link Again, more structure than last year's advanced camp. Our top designers and builders will be analyzing the new game, and teaching specifics concepts, mechanisms and high quality build techniques
Combat Robotics (7-9th grade)
3D Design and Modeling course and new Jr Bots Training Camp course. LInk The combat camp is 8 days (over two weeks) and will cover an entire design, build and competition with a insect class combat robot. We've specifically created this class as an onboard accelerator for new members as we prepare for the national launch of the new BattleBots league and begin hosting our own 1-3lb competitions next year.
Note: The 24-25 Combat program will require that students have 3D Design skills to be accepted. Prospective team members can either demonstrate current skills and experience with CAD, take a PART class, take another CAD class, or learn online on your own with many of the great tutorial videos out there.
